However, the trail went cold prompting a nationwide manhunt. In April of 2018, Lois Riess was apprehended in Texas facing not only charges for the death of her husband but also the death of Pamela Hutchinson. Hutchinson was found dead in her home from multiple gunshot wounds in early April. The Dodge County Sheriff's Office said Riess's mode of operation was to befriend women before taking their identity.Īccording to Lee County Sherriff's Office, Hutchinson's cash, credit cards, ID card, and car were all stolen. Lois Riess was originally expected back in Minnesota earlier this year but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed her return Lois was formally booked at the Steele County jail on July 3 and is being held at the Steele County Detention Center for first-degree, premeditated murder, second-degree murder without intent as well as theft.
